Take "God We Trust" off of government currency? Take God out of The Pledge of Allegiance? Get rid of Prayer in schools? No religious symbols on any public property? No government approved religious holidays? Is this what Stalin did in Russia? And this IS what Ultra-Liberals want !! Our country, unlike most including France, recognizes mans rights as coming
from a higher power not the state. Knowing that a government could abuse
its citizens in their choice of religion our forefathers built in provisions that protect us.
In short our forefathers wanted to protect us from a government that dictated to its citizenry, what religion to practice, when to worship, how to worship and greatly make your life miserable if you didn't go along with it.
The safeguards were to stop the government from exalting one religion over another and allow the freedom to not practice any religion if so desired. And giving no consequences to it citizenry for what ever choice they make.
The government was never charged with doing away with any references in our society to religion or the holidays religion brings. Although Communism tried to.
All the current religious references Ultra Liberals want to do away with now were present at the start of our nation, if its practice then did not conform to what the founding fathers envisioned for this nation, why did they not abolish these practices back then? I think Ultra Liberals are attempting to tear the soul out of this country in order to move it to a Communist type state where all rights are granted to man by the STATE and religion is outlawed along with gun ownership. Any homage given will be to the STATE not a creator. So in the end they will cause what they claim they are stopping. The sanctioning of Government of Atheism as the state religion....hmmmm...
Atheism is a religion, just as any other. It is a belief system. It has its followers and supportive materials just as any other religion. It has its leaders and does like any other religion, try to win converts.
Lately, Ahteist are making progress on forcing Government to recognize only their religion. They are doing this by excluding all references to "God" from Public Buildings, Oaths, Pledges, and documents, siting the Separation of Church and State.. "God" as used in these instances does not identify which "God"... And therefore is NOT holding one "God" or religion above another...
This country is one of the most religious in the world, 80% of its population practice some form of religion, covering many gods...
I contend that this is 100% as Atheist practice their religion of the only god being man himself with no higher being involved in the equation. This therefore includes the 20% with the 80% which means we all believe in some theory in the origins of life and our accountability in life.
So by forcing Government to slowly get rid of references to god they are in fact forcing Government to sanction Atheism as the national religion. Which is against the Constitution !
As it stands, all prayers, oaths, pledges, monetary inscriptions and other displays that include the word "GOD" does not identify which god, even for an atheist who believes at most, man is his own god. In this, Government has not forced any particular god on anyone.
Don't be fooled and don't let it happen.. These zealots which are a minority are attempting to dictate to the majority. They often use the come on of being OFFENDED by prayer, religious figures during holidays etc. I'm sorry but NO American in the USA has a RIGHT NOT TO BE OFFENDED. But I'm sure an ultra liberal somewhere will start a campaign to outlaw being offended. Look out the next time you paint your house, some liberal will take you to court cause they were offended by your choice of colors.
